The Butterbaugh/Puderbaugh Family, written by Howard L. Leckey, Mary Puterbaugh (daughter of Henry Adams Puterbaugh and Hannah Ulrich Puterbaugh was born in 1786 in Pennsylvania. She died in Indiana on Oct 12, 1852. She and Jacob had the following children:
1. Jacob: b. in PA; Elder in the Eel River Church; in 1881 he jointed "Old Order Church".
2. Solomon: b. 1/28/1828 in PA; married Barbara Brumbaugh, b. 1827, d. 1899- both buried in Eel River Cemetery, in Silver Lake, Kosciusko Co., IN.
3. Elizabeth: b. PA.
4. John: b. Blair Co., PA on 12/20/1807. Went to Montgomery Co., OH in 1815, then to Illinois in 1864. Married 1st Hannah Ullery in 1828 (d. 1887); married 2nd, Permelia A. Wolfe, widow of Elder George Wolfe of IL. For fourteen years he maintained a winter home in Lordsburg, CA. He preached for 61 years. He built a church at his own expense at Cerro Gordo, IL. His 1st wife died on the opening day of Annual Conference at Ottawa, KS. It was a coincidence that nine years later, while the conference was being held the second time at the same place, "Uncle Johnny" was called to the "Silent Land".

6. Joseph: b. 1821 in PA; d. Sep 24, 1899-buried in Eel River Cemetery. Lived in Montgomery Co., OH before coming to Indiana to Church of the Brethren group- Eel River. Married Elizabeth Studebaker, b. 8/4/1827, d. 11/15/1900 in IN.
