He was born Oct. 15, 1915, (his tombstone states Oct. 5), in Macoupin County, Ill., the son of John R. and Callie Darran Jones.
He had farmed in the Sikeston area for 65 years, and was a member of the McMullin Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, James H. Jones; and six nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Burial will follow in the Carpenter Cemetery, near McMullin.
