RUDDOCK MET AN INSTANT DEATH TUESDAY

One Of His Brothers In Indiana Hospital Seriously Injured; Other Jumps Clear

Burial On Friday Afternoon

Alexander Ruddock, aged about 20 years, and one of the well-known young men of Homer City, was instantly killed late Tuesday morning, when he was caught under a fall of rock in the Lucerne mines. The young man and his brothers, Hugh and William, were working at the same heading when the accident occurred.

Alexander was caught fairly under the fall and death came quickly. Hugh sustained serious injuries to his legs and back and is under observation at the Indiana hospital. William managed to escape with a few minor bruises.

Alexander Ruddock was a son of William and Mary Ruddock and was born November 5, 1908. He had always lived in Homer City or vicinity and numbered his friends and associates by the legion. Just a week ago he was initiated into membership of the Junior Order, United American Mechanics.

The deceased leaves his parents and these brothers and sisters: David, Hugh, William, Robert, Marie, Dorothy and Elizabeth, all at home.

Funeral services will be conducted in the parental home in North Homer Friday afternoon by the Rev. Mr. Prugh, minister of the Homer City Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery, Indiana.
