A funeral service for Barbara Bishop Berta, 75, of Ukiah, will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Eversole Mortuary with the Rev. Michael Cloney of St. Mary's Catholic Church presiding. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, also at Eversole Mortuary. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Berta died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in Ukiah. She was born February 13, 1927 in Nebraska and lived in this area for 52 years. She worked as a surgery assistant at Adventist Hospital.
"She lived for her children, grandchildren, friends and her dog, Holly," said her son, Guy.
Besides her son, Guy, of Palm Desert; 3 grandchildren: Lisa, Aaron and Guy; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Barbara was the wife to two husbands, Fred Bishop Jr. and Jim Berta and mother to Janet Ford. She was the last child of Guy McCoy and Minne Coates to pass of their six children.
