George Wesley Bingham was born on July 7th, 1911 at St. Lawrence, South Dakota to John H. and Ruth N. Goyke Bingham. George grandparents included John James and Hulda Miller Bingham, and Michael and Mary Esther Arends Goyke. He grew up in the Hand County, SD area. On November 1st, 1930, George married Crystal Elma Yearous at St. Lawrence. Crystal was the daughter of George and Myrtle Peterman Yearous. George and Crystal farmed near Lake Conchrane in Deuel County, SD. They were the parents of five children: Charles, Donald, Doris Ronne Musch, Byron, and Joyce Lokkeberg Kotz. Mrs. Bingham passed away in early 1965, at which time George retired from farming. He lived with his eldest son, Charles, in Illinois for a time before returning to South Dakota and living in Astoria, near his other children. Mr. Bingham died on September 13, 1985 at Astoria.
