"SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY"
"With the help of his wife, Mr. Agler hewed from the wilderness a home, where they reared their children and made the best of conditions of the early pioneer days, often suffering with fortitude the days of want, yet never complaining, placing his trust in Him who doeth all things well. He has survived the allotted time of four score and ten, having retained his faculties to this ripe old age, which becomes scintillant with beauty when tempered with a Christian life. Those present marveled at the memory and stories as related by Timothy and his aged brother, Wert Agler, of Van Wert, when they recalled the days of the pioneer when all that counted in manhood was given the crucial test. Those present were Timothy Agler, Wert Agler, a brother, of Van Wert; D.H. Whitmore and wife, Mrs. Whitmore being a sister of Timothy and Wert Agler; County Recorder Jerry Agler, Lettie [Lillie] B. Thomas, Vera Thomas, Lester Thomas, C.M. Agler and family, M.M. Agler and children, Ruth Geraldine, Kermit and Arnold; I.L. Agler, wife and daughter, Leona; D.E. Agler and wife, Sarah Hurraw, Myria Murphy, R.S. Springer and family, Russell Stewart and family, Lee Agler and wife, Lawrence Agler and wife, Henry Hoffman and family."
