Mrs. Ethel A. Bartels, a long time resident of Gary, died Monday September 19 [1977] in a Hendricks, Minn. hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Voigt and Livingston Funeral Home at Canby, Minn. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery of Gary.
Pastor Richard Salmonson officiated and casketbearers were Perry Heaton, Sr., A.H. Miller, Howard Stuerman, Ralph Cole, Walt Ochsendorf and Kenneth Dwinell.
Mrs. Bartels was the widow of A.W. Bartels, who served in the S.D. Legislature for 18 years. She was a worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Paul of Gary; a brother, Ross Asher of Northwood, Iowa; and a sister, Mrs. Gladys Bryant of Mason City, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
