Clayton Everitt Garrard, age 76, of Casey, IL passed away at 12:23 p.m. on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his home. He was born April 21, 1942 in Lamotte Township, Crawford County, IL, the son of Alfred Leroy Garrard and Alice May Stevens Garrard. On October 27, 1990 he married Melody Gay Zakowski in Casey, IL.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Melody Garrard of Casey, IL; children, Curtis Garrard of Robinson, IL; Jason Garrard of Oblong, IL; Kevin Garrard of Lincoln, NE; April Garrard of Charlotte, NC; Matt Morecraft (Laura) of Charleston, IL; Heather Morecraft of Casey, IL; Curtis Morecraft (Kelly) of Charleston, IL; Dustin Garrard of Casey, IL; Nevada Garrard of Casey, IL; Joshua Garrard of Charleston, IL and Dawn Garrard of Marshall, IL; brother, Robert Garrard of Flat Rock, IL; sister, Jetta Matheney (Paul) of Robinson, IL; nine grandchildren, nephews, nieces, his Church family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Larry Garrard, Kenneth Garrard, Michael Garrard and Raymond Garrard.

Clayton was a 1961 graduate of Robinson High School. He owned and operated Garrard Appliance Sales and Service in Oblong, Casey and Charleston for many years. He was ESDA Coordinator in Clark County for many years and served as a City of Casey Alderman. Clayton was an active member of Masons and Shriners and was a member of the Casey Masonic Lodge and AAFR Danville Scottish Rites. He was a member of Casey White Oak Church of God. He enjoyed working on things (especially tractors), camping, fishing, attending auctions, Blue Grass music and most of all time spent with his children.

A Masonic Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL followed by a Graveside Service and Burial with Rev. Justin Janney officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Markwell Funeral Home, PO Box 175, Casey, IL 62420.
