Charles Roy Alfaro, retired director of finance for the Metropolitan Crime Commission, died Friday of cancer at Chateau de Notre Dame nursing home. He was 68. Mr. Alfaro was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for 38 years. He attended Fortier High School, graduated from Mobile High School in Mobile, Alabama, and attended Tulane University. Hew as a member of several Masonic organizations. He served in the Air Force during World War II and attained the rank of sergeant. he received two Bronze Stars and a Victory Medal. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Wright Alfaro, a son, a daughter, a brother, a sister, and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 2216 Metairie Road, Tuesday from 11am to 1pm, with a Mass at 1pm. McMahon, Coburn and Bride Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
