1871 Census of Canada, Nova Scotia, District 192 Yarmouth, shows Frances aged 5 with her parents Samuel and Susan. Others shown living in the household are: Samuel (a son of Samuel and Susan ?), John, Daniel, Hannah, Mary, Maria, and Deborah. It should be pointed out that this family was almost impossible to find on the 1871 census. When it was filmed it appears that the camera or the page were moved during exposure and the page is very difficult to read because it is so out of focus.

Marriage record provided by the Public Archives of Nova Scotia. The marriage date of November 8, 1883 shows William Fenton and Fanny Hurlburt, he aged 22, she aged 18. Her parents are listed as Samuel and Susan. Her birth place is shown as Tusket Lakes.

Fannie's death occurred at the Poor's Asylum, according to the Yarmouth County Museum Archives, in work done for compiler in 1996. They also supplied the obituary data and Sweeny's Funeral Records as follows:

Her obituary as found in the Yarmouth Light December 22, 1898 reads, simply:
"Died, at the Poor's Asylum, December 12, Mrs. Fanny Fenton, aged about 40 years."

According to Sweeny's Funeral records, Ledger #2, A Mrs. James (?) Fenton, who died 12 December 1898, paid for by the Municipality of Yarmouth, some kind of services were provided. There is no place of burial recorded, however, the cause of death is given as Typhoid Fever.
