George Hiserote was the youngest of the nine children of Dr. Andris and Elizabeth Hiserote and was born in Boone County, Illinois, September 10, 1855. When he was one year old he came with his parents to Iowa and settled in the Honey Creek neighborhood. He attended the academy at New Providence. On March 28, 1879 he married Miss Rebecca Dutton of Eldora. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary recently. To their union were born eight children, all living. There are two sons, Henry and Mark of Hubbard. The daughters are Mrs. Elizabeth Knowles, Mrs. May Moon and Annie of Hubbard, Mrs. Maude Heffern of Flint, Michigan, Mrs. Neil DeBord and Mrs. Blanche Schultz of Denver, Colorado. There are twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church, with Rev. S. W. Rowley in charge. Interment was made in the Berlin Emery
Mrs. Blanche Schultz wrote the following lines in memory of her father death;
Many are the loved ones left,
When I put out to sea,
Many are the loved ones gone
Who wait and long for me.
Christ, the Savior, shows the way
To those who will abide
And he knows when it's best to call
His loved ones his side.
