Emma M. Allison

Emma M. (Tyson) Allison, 98, of the York County Nursing Home and formerly of Glen Rock, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at the nursing home, where she had lived for the past seven years. She was the wife of the late Lloyd E. "Jack" Allison.

Born May 7, 1904, in Springfield Township near Hanover Junction, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Lottie (Bortner) Tyson.

She was employed as a seamstress for many years at several local sewing companies in Glen Rock. She was the oldest member of New Hope (Fissel's) UCC, and a member of Amalgamated Garment Workers Union.

Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis M. Althouse of York; four sisters, Naomi Lerew and Phoebe Bowman, both of Seven Valleys, and Pauline Smith and Rachel Johnson, both of York; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no viewing. Service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements.
