LODI (San Joaquin Co.) Dec. 23 - Private funeral services were held this afternoon in the Little Temple of the Palms in Stockton for Mrs. Addie M. Benedict, long prominent in Lodi civic and social activities. Mrs. Benedict died Saturday in the Stockton Hospital following a brief illness. She was a member of the Woodbridge Grange and for many years was active in the Socialist Party. She was interested in child welfare work and in 1923 organized the Lodi Parent-Teachers Association. She also was a charter member of the Lodi Improvement Club, now the Lodi Womens Club. Mrs. Benedict, who had lived in Lodi for thirty five years, was a native of Amboy, Ill., and was 73 years of age. She was the wife of E. A. Benedict of Lodi and leaves the following children: Mrs. Eva Brown and Miss Rita Benedict, both of Lodi, L. B. Benedict of Stockton, Mrs. J. W. Sharp of San Francisco and Mrs. G. P. Brown of Los Angeles.
