Dorothy was a graduate of Franklin High School, and worked for 37 years as an LPN at the Maple Crest Nursing Home in Sullivan. Even after retiring from the nursing home, Dorothy continued to care for her family and friends right up until her death. She was a faithful and active member of the Franklin Baptist Church for many years.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Kenneth E. Farrin Sr. and his wife, Kathy, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; a special daughter-in-law, Ida Parker of Beals; three grandchildren, Kenneth E. Farrin Jr. and his wife, Ellen, of Sedgwick, Lorianne Elizabeth Farrin of Gouldsboro, and Cassandra J. Chase of Bucksport; three great-grandchildren, Kenny, Curtis, and Kylie; a sister, Nina Martin of Franklin; a close brother-in-law, Eugene Farrin; a special family friend, Eleanor Libby; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Sumner, Lawrence, and Richard Gordon; and three sisters, Retha Joy, Viola Martin, and Eleanor Campbell.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, with Pastor Steve Sobel officiating.
