Lula I. Schlump, 97, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. A celebration of her life will be at Newcomb Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 11am. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am until the service. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Newcomb Presbyterian Church, St. John's United Methodist Church or Oakwood Place at Ridgecrest in Davenport.
Lula was born August 9, 1924 in Davenport. She was the daughter of Rollie E. Andrew & Una May (White) Rhoades. She had worked for Sears & Roebuck & Co. for 31 years prior to her retiring and worked for Dixie Cream Doughnuts in her earlier years. She married William F. Schlump, Jr. on March 9, 1946. He passed away in 1995. She was a member of Newcomb Presbyterian Church, former Elks Lodge and Plus 60 Club. Those left to honor her memory include her children: Brian (Jan) Schlump, Diana (William) Ward Bentley, grandchildren: Brian (Janet) Schlump, Jr., Michelle (Scott) Hall, David Ward, Jr., great grandchildren, Sierra Schlump, Tristin Schlump, Logan Hall, Quinten Hall, Colin Hall, Macie Ward and Braeden Ward; great-great grandchild, Zoey Hall, dear friend, Jada Isham, Davenport and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lula, was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Schlump, and numerous brothers and sisters.
