Kathryn J. Caughey, 94 year old resident of Brainerd, MN passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Harmony House in Brainerd, MN.
Kathryn was born on April 4, 1929 in Brainerd, MN to the late Herman and Sandra (Ylinen) Peterson. On March 29, 1949, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Caughey at her parent's home in Brainerd, MN. The couple continued their life together farming in Daggett Brook Township. Kathryn enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an avid bowler in area leagues. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathryn was a long-time member of Faith Baptist Church in Brainerd and volunteered at the Brainerd Senior Center. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Kathryn was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Sandra Peterson; husband, Kenneth Caughey; son, Robert Caughey; daughter, Jan Graham; siblings, Dick Peterson, Betty Howell, Glen Peterson, and David Peterson; grandchildren, Emmy Caughey, Josh Caughey, Rick Caughey, and Jackie Mills.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Halvorson-Taylor Life Events Center in Brainerd, MN with Rev. Max Day officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Friday and from 10-11 A.M. on Saturday at the Halvorson-Taylor Life Events Center in Brainerd, MN.
