The daughter of James McAroy & Rose Ann Sloan, m. 1860, Cockermouth, Cumberland, England. Both were of Irish descent. She married Elmer Kough, December 27, 1887, Eben, Cambria, Pennsylvania. By the 1900 census they had two children, Joseph, age 11 years, and Florence, age 9 yrs.
