Victor "Leroy" Brown, 74, of Nokomis passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 8:45 AM at his home surrounded by family.

The son of Victor Debs Brown and Nellie Marie (Davis) Brown, Leroy was born February 3,1947 in Wilmington, Illinois. He married Emily June Reeves on June 17, 1965 in Hillsboro, Illinois. She survives.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Nellie and brother, Robert L. Carlock.

Leroy was raised in Nokomis and graduated from Nokomis High School in 1965. Along with his father, he ran the DX Station in Witt, worked at National Greenhouse in Pana, as a laborer out of Decatur Local and then as a concrete finisher for 40 years.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He attended New Bethel Baptist Church in rural Nokomis. He enjoyed metal detecting, hunting, fishing, traveling, and going to the casinos as well as spending time with his family & friends.

Services for Leroy Brown will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 1:00 PM in Nokomis.

Dinner will be held at First Pentecostal Church, Nokomis. Memorials may be directed in memory of Leroy to AAMP (Autism and Movement Project of Pana).
