Jean Crutchfield Aikman, age 73, of Russellville, died Friday, August 26, 2006, at her home. A daughter of the late Ernest Leroy and Willie Gertrude Dennison Crutchfield, she was born October 21, 1932, in Nashville, Arkansas.
She was a graduate of Nashville High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother William Robert Crutchfield.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jim Aikman; two sons and daughters-in-law Jim B., Jr. and Audrey Aikman of Russellville, and John C. and Amy Aikman of Russellville; two daughters and son-in-law, Jane Aikman Tipton and Clyde Tipton of Nairobi, Kenya, and Jill Aikman Bayless of Longview, Texas; seven grandchildren, Rebecca and Forrest Bayless of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Bryan and Nelson Tipton of Nairobi, Kenya, Susan Tipton of Wooster, Ohio, and Natalie and David Aikman of Russellville; three sisters, Jane Crutchfield Perkins of Nashville; Ernestine Nichols of Fort Worth, Texas and Beatrice Allen of Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
Funeral will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, at Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville with the Rev. Ken Kalvesmaki officiating. Burial will be in Briggs Family Cemetery near Briggsville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-4 P.M. at the funeral home.
