Greg enjoyed studying the Bible, listening to BBN (Bible Broadcasting Network) on the radio, writing reflections of his life, fishing, telling jokes, and spending time with family and friends. Greg passed from earth to heaven peacefully in his sleep on Easter Sunday morning, April 17, 2022. Greg loved Jesus and shared his faith with everyone he met. His sweet gentle spirit, funny sense of humor, stories, and love for people and Jesus lit up our world.
A celebration of life will be held at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home at 1111 East Blvd Charlotte on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at 2 pm with Greg's dear friend Pastor Gary Hixson officiating. Greg is survived by his brothers Jim Kerr, Skip Holland and wife Barbara, Steve Kerr and wife Doris, and his sisters, Mary Thia Powers and husband John Amen, and Julie Coogan and husband Tom, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the loving, tender care and compassion given to Greg by the nurses and staff at Bethamy Retirement Center and the joy and kindness extended to Greg for many years from local friends and especially through the BBN broadcast and staff.
