Rosanna Peterson, 83, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, peacefully passed away Sunday April 17, 2022, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 18, 1938, in Wabash County, Illinois, the daughter of Gilbert Cris and Melva (Whitten) Alka. Rosanna graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and attended college. On June 9, 1956, she married Larry Edwin Peterson at First Christian Church in Mt. Carmel. He preceded her in death. They were married sixty-one years. Rosanna was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
Rosanna worked twenty-four years as a teller for Security Bank and Trust. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed square dancing. Rosanna was a member of the Wabash General Hospital Auxiliary and loved passing out menus. She oversaw the kitchen at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She was an avid baker and fantastic cook. Rosanna loved and was immensely proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rosanna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry Douglas Peterson; son in law, Leon Leeper; siblings, Gilbert Jr. Alka, Esther Mae Petros, Richard Alka, Helen Alka and infant brother, Larry Alka.
