Versie Laveda Millsaps, 91, went to be with the Lord at 3 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2007, while surrounded by her family at her home in Hector.

She was born January 19, 1916 at Hector to Monroe Cornelius and Lillie Luessa Sanders Bohanan. Versie was a member of the Hector First Assembly of God and taught school for 31 years with the last 20 years being at the Hector Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marcus Millsaps; and a son, David Glynn Millsaps.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Vicki Millsaps of Hector; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Millsaps; three sisters, Rosa Tripp of Hector, Goldie Jones of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Jean Church of Sacramento, California; a granddaughter, Casey Millsaps; numerous nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 31, 2007, at the Hector First Assembly of God with the Rev. C. K. Bull and the Rev. Keith Underhill officiating. Burial will be in Nogo Cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Wayne Millsaps, Leon Millsaps, Wayne Jones, Tom Heaton, Harold Tripp, and Bobby Villereal.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7, Sunday evening at the funeral home.
