Earl Calvin Ockey was born to Maude Louise and Calvin Ockey on December 12, 1934 in Nephi, Utah. He passed away on April 14, 2022 at his home. Earl grew up in Nephi, Utah and graduated from Juab High. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Southern States Mission. He had many fond memories of his mission. He served in the Utah National Guard Army Reserves and was a proud patriot. He married Faye Blackham on December 19, 1958 in the Manti, Utah Temple. They had 6 children of whom he was very proud. He attended BYU, Snow College and later graduated from the University of Utah with his bachelors in Business Management.

He worked as a Dispatcher for the Utah Highway Patrol, the Tempest Company and worked for the State of Utah for many years and retired from there. He made lifelong friends throughout his career for the State. He was a hard-working man who taught his family the value of a good work ethic and how to manage money. He loved his family and often said how proud he was of them. He was happiest when he was at a family gathering and was well known for his "dad jokes". A visit with Earl was never complete until he told a joke. Earl was a quiet, steady soul. He provided a lot of security for his family, and they knew they could depend on him. When speaking of his family, he was always a little teary because he was so proud of them.

He served faithfully in many Church callings including ward clerk, bishopric and a branch presidency. Earl had a strong, quiet faith and a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Earl is survived by Faye, his wife of 63 years; children: Roger (Belinda), Mary Lou (Wade) Shaw, Colleen (Glenn) Fuller, Dale, Ranae (Aaron) Mason, and Scott (Jami); 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harold and sisters Elaine and LaRae.
