He worked as a Dispatcher for the Utah Highway Patrol, the Tempest Company and worked for the State of Utah for many years and retired from there. He made lifelong friends throughout his career for the State. He was a hard-working man who taught his family the value of a good work ethic and how to manage money. He loved his family and often said how proud he was of them. He was happiest when he was at a family gathering and was well known for his "dad jokes". A visit with Earl was never complete until he told a joke. Earl was a quiet, steady soul. He provided a lot of security for his family, and they knew they could depend on him. When speaking of his family, he was always a little teary because he was so proud of them.
He served faithfully in many Church callings including ward clerk, bishopric and a branch presidency. Earl had a strong, quiet faith and a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Earl is survived by Faye, his wife of 63 years; children: Roger (Belinda), Mary Lou (Wade) Shaw, Colleen (Glenn) Fuller, Dale, Ranae (Aaron) Mason, and Scott (Jami); 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harold and sisters Elaine and LaRae.
