Son of Josiah H. and Amanda (Butler or Buckley) Gordon of Sullivan, Hancock County, Maine. He was born either 1866 or 1868. His age in census varies and I could not find a birth record.

He and Ada Hitty Wakefield of North Sullivan and had a daughter Alzada M. Gordon born January 1, 1889. Ada was later Ada Hodgkins of Gouldsboro. Alzada Gordon married Albert Hodgkins son of Agreen Hodgkins and Elvira K. Wakefield in 1907.

Edward married Ellen Eliza "Nellie" Cook, daughter of George W. and Mary E. (Eye) Cook of Red Beach Dec 14, 1898 and had two children Maynard Cook Gordon and Elbridge Walter Gordon.

In 1910 in Sullivan Maine Edward was 42 and a laborer in the stone quarry. Nellie was 33 and they had been married 11 years and had two children Maynard age 6 and Elbridge age 4. They were living next door to his parents Josiah and Amanda Gordon. His parents were 76 and 72 and had been married 50 yrs. His father was a farmer.

They were residing in Sullivan Maine in 1930; Edward was 63 and working as a quarryman at the granite works. Wife Nellie E. was 53 and son Maynard was residing with them, age 26, widowed, and a stone cutter. Cecil Gordon grandson was also in the household.
