Mr. Manford A.Carter,75,died at 7:20 P.M. Saturday at the
Jane Phillips Medical Center.

Mr. Carter was born on March 1,1914 at San Angelo,Texas to
Andrew Jessie and Mary Ann (James)Carter.He moved to
Cookson Hills in Fort Gibson in 1917 where he grew up and
received his education.Mr.Carter served in the United States
Army during World War 11 until receiving his honorable
discharge.Following his honorable discharge he served in the
National Guard 45th Infantry Division for three years in 1944.

He was married to Marilyn Holloway on February 14th 1944
at Colgate,Ok.
Manford and Marilyn made their home in Bartlesville where
Mr. Carter became employed with the National Zinc Company
on November 14,1944 until his retirement on March 1,1976.

He was preceded in death by one sister,Mildred Carter in 1988.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife,Marilyn Carter of the home;two sons:Manford Riley Carter of Tuson,Arizonia;
Dale Lee Carter of Bartlesville,and one daughter,
Sandra K.Fielder of Bartlesville;one brother,Archie Carter,
of Bartlesville;three grandchildren;one step-grandchild;
one niece and two nephews.

Funeral services for Mr.Carter will be held at 2;00p.m.
TUESDAY at the Memorial Christian Church with Mr.Don
Rayford of the Memorial Christian Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home.
