On June 28, 1997, he was united in marriage to Rebecca J Carvel and they shared the last twenty-four years of happiness and memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Claud Burns.
Phil is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca of their home in Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Nancy Burns and Alexandra Burns, both of Lebanon, Missouri; two step-sons Steven Everett and Charles Everett (Zoey), all of Lebanon, Missouri; one grandson Colton; four step-grandchildren, Serenity, Harmony, Milo, Tegan; two brothers, John Burns (Charlena) of Mound City, Kansas, and Eugene Burns (Linda) of Belton, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Barbara Burns, of Kansas City, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1969. He worked for the H. D. Lee Company for sixteen years, then as a security guard for McDonalds and Taco Bell, and then for Marathon Electric for several years.
Phil made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Community Baptist church.
He enjoyed mowing his yard, loved going to car races and shows, and liked playing cards. He had a love for children and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
