A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Lance Merritt and Joe Jenkins officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 894 Cherry St., Suite A, Macon GA 31201.
Bernice was born in Hancock County Georgia to the late Willard J. and Irene Powell Hitchcock.
She was preceded in death by her second mom, Annie Kate Hitchcock, her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, George Parks, her siblings, W.J. Hitchcock, Elizabeth Shoemaker, Marjorie H. Symonds, and Mildred H. Burberg.
Bernice was a charter member of West Highlands Baptist Church where she was very active in many ministries at the church. She was a homemaker and volunteered at Macon Northside Hospital.
She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and aunt.
The family would like to thank the staff of Summers Landing for the loving care given to their mama for the past nine years.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Buddy) Craine of Bonaire, grandchildren, Carl (Sherrie) Craine, Perry Craine, great grandchildren, Christopher Craine, Jeremiah Cherrie, Justin Cherrie, Elaine Robinson, and great great grandchild, Giovannie Rodulfo, brothers, Franklin (Mary Ann) Hitchcock, Rigdon (Vara) Hitchcock, and several nieces and nephews.
