Bernie worked at MLI Industries, Felchar Manufacturing, and Murphy's Steel, along with multiple part-time jobs. His favorite pastime was taking long trips riding his motorcycle. He loved tinkering on tractors, trucks, and various other things. If anyone needed anything fixed or welded, he would fix it for them. He was most proud of the little car that he built to tow behind his bike.
