Richard P. Anderson died February 28, 2022 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman. He was 76 years old. Richard was born, August 3, 1945, in Bentley, Oklahoma. He was the son of Thomas (Tommy) and Selma (McGinty) Anderson. He was a graduate of Atoka High School. After high school he joined the United States Air Force, serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He was married to Joan (Tucker) Anderson until her death in 2008.

Richard worked as a warehouse manager at Indian Nation Wholesale from 1978 until his retirement in 2018.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, son Brian Anderson, his parents, a sister Charlene Vicki Anderson Cole, and a brother Leon Anderson.

Surviving are his sons, Michael (Jaime) Anderson of Cochran, GA, Robert Anderson of Sherman; a sister Billie June Anderson Cooper of Atoka and one grandchild, Emma Claire Anderson of Cochran, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing on the Muddy Boggy River, and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and loved talking to everyone. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone in need.
