David Reuben Moll has served the Lord, his family, his friends, and his community well for nearly 82 years. He was blessed to have spent his last night at home with his family before joining his Lord and Savior in His heavenly home. David was born April 27, 1940 in Madison, Wisconsin to Reuben and Esther Moll. At a young age he met and married the love of his life, Lois. Early in their marriage they moved to Waukegan, IL and started their family. After many years of prayer, they welcomed two children, Lynette and John. David worked for American Motors for some time before joining the Waukegan Fire Department where he served in many capacities: Lieutenant, Fire Prevention, Bomb Technician, photographer, and helped to start the departments' computer program. When he was not on shift, you would likely find him supporting his church in any way he could. He served Immanuel Lutheran well for many, many years as an Elder, Treasurer, Trustee, custodian, and as the trusted IT man. He spent hours setting up and working on computers at Immanuel Lutheran School. David was strong in his Christian faith and was proud to share the Word with anyone he met. He set a strong example of being a faithful servant to his children and grandchildren. He loved his Lord and he loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy- he spent countless hours teaching them to ride bicycles and watching them play sports. Most importantly, he made sure that they knew their Lord. David is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lois; son John (Janice) Moll; four grandchildren, Kennedy, Hannah, Maiah and Quade; brother Daniel (Beth) Moll; 19 nieces and nephews; Godchildren, Denise Shah, Becky Morgan, Jim Moll and Randy Pederson; and sister-in-laws, Susan Moll, Sandra Moll, Judy (Don) Thesing, Lori (Tim) Walsh, Amy Ziegler and Anna Moll. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lynette Moll; parents Reuben and Esther Moll, and brothers, Philip Moll, Armond "AJ" Moll, and Fred Moll. A visitation for David will be held Thursday, April 14 from 5 to 8 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, Gurnee. Another visitation will occur Friday, April 15, 2022 from 9:30 to 11 AM, followed by a service at 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1310 N. Frolic Ave., Waukegan. Interment at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Lutheran School, Antioch, IL for tuition assistance.
