Rites Set For I. G. Fillingim

I. G. Fillingim, 83, passed away Monday, January 26,1970 at the home of his son, WIllis in Briscoe.

Mr. Fillingim was born September 27, 1886 at Alabama. He was married to Laura D. Coker February 14, 1909, in Turkey, Texas. Mr. Fillingim moved to the Wheeler area in 1895. He had been a farmer and rancher all his life.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Mr. Fillingim was survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Leola Root of Dalhart, Texas, Mrs. Eula Maye Newman of Fr. Worth, Mrs. Cornelia Lehman of McGregor, Minn. and 7 sons, Leon of Wheeler, E.G. of Briscoe, Talmadge of Price, Utah, William of Wagner, South Dakota, Willis of Briscoe, Howrace of Allison, Hugh of Arlington, Texas and 3 brother, Homer of Rotan, Texas, A.C. of Tahoka, Robert of Airdale, Texas, 1 sister Mrs. Rosemary Anderson of Leveland, 45 grandchildren and ?? great grandchildren, Mr. Fillingim was preceded in death by his wife in 1967.

Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Wheeler Thrusday, January 29, 1970, at 2:00 P.M.

Officiating at the service will be Rev. Sanford Cole of Canadian, Rev. Ray Forbes of Mobeetie and Rev. Wilbur Gaede of Wheeler. Burial services will be in the Gageby Cemetery.

Pall bearers are the Grandsons and Honorary pall bearers are; Allen Meadows, Edward Meek, Harry Fields Sr., Elmer Simpson, Robert Holt, Gaddy Vise and Glen George.

Burial is under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.
