Charley Clyde Goings, 91, of Moultrie, died Friday, May 24, 2019 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 27, 2019 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert McCoy officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Born October 5, 1927 in Sylvester, Georgia he was the son of Charlie Marion Goings and Della Champion Goings.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Goings was formerly associated with Swift and Co., Moultrie Grocery Company and retired as a salesman with Sutton Systems in Ellenton. He was a member of Autreyville Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday School teacher and was a former deacon of Greenfield Baptist Church. His family remembers that he was a gentle, patient and loving husband and father that had a wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan with a special place in his heart for the Colquitt County Packers and The Georgia Bulldogs. Mr. Goings enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

Survivors include his wife Doris Gregory Goings of Moultrie; daughters, Melanie Carlson Wiseman and husband Randy of Miami, FL, Cathy Goings Wiseman of Fleming Island, FL; sister, Hilda Grace Shiver of Camilla; a special nephew, Phillip Ricks and wife Carolyn of Sylvester; granddaughters, Melissa Landoll and Amber Muyres and husband Derek; great-grandchildren, Reece Landoll, Irie Muyres, Lennon Muyres and Clementine Muyres.
