Son of Frederick and Mary Frances Brigman Lane, husband of Vera Mae Elliott.

MARION - Mr. Howard Lane, 90, widower of Vera Mae Elliott Lane, passed away peacefully after an extended illness at MUSC Health Marion under the care of Agape Hospice during the early morning hours of Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Mr. Lane was born on December 14, 1931 in Dillon County, South Carolina, a son to the late Fred Lane and the late Mary Frances Lane. Mr. Lane was a US Army veteran. Mr. Lane had worked in management for the textile industry. Howard loved fishing, gardening, and watching NASCAR.

Surviving Mr. Lane is a daughter, Shandra Lane Hinson (Joseph) of Fair Bluff, North Carolina; 2 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson.

Mr. Lane was predeceased by a son, Tony Lane; and his twin brother, Hudson Lane.

A graveside service for Mr. Lane will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Florence National Cemetery in Florence, with Military Honors, and directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins.
