Kyle Edward Aurand, of Mount Morris, was ushered into Paradise in the Presence of His Savior and Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2022, while living at Pinecrest Community in Mt. Morris, IL.
He was born on April 11, 1937, in Oregon, IL, the son of Edward Charles and Barbara Louise (Jones) Aurand.
Kyle graduated from Oregon High School in 1955 having played on the football team and a member of FFA. He married his beloved wife Carolyn Sue Bain on October 1, 1960, in Dixon IL. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2014. Before retiring in 2000, he worked for Centel Telephone Company and then Gallatin River Telephone Company for several decades as a lineman and for a short time a telephone operator. Kyle was a longtime member and board member of Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church in Dixon. He served in the United States National Guard for several years. Kyle was a faithful volunteer with Prison Fellowship for 20 years, Roving Vehicles in Christ Service for 10 years and Serenity Hospice and Home. He especially enjoyed reading good books and then giving copies of books away he thought might bless others to read. Kyle also really loved walking and participated in many 5k's during his lifetime along with completing 150 miles in one week to raise money for the Pinecrest Good Samaritan Fund. Kyle loved his family lavishly and was a very active grandfather and cherished his time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kyle's purpose in life was described in his favorite Bible verse from Galations 6:14 which says, "My only boast is in the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus, our Messiah. In Him, I have been crucified to the natural realm; and the natural realm is dead to me and no longer dominates my life". This Easter Season, Kyle's faith in Jesus as His Risen Savior has become sight.
He is survived by his two children, one daughter and her husband and one son; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands; one sister-in-law; many nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
