He was a 1942 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School in New Albany and proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Air Force. Carl retired after a career in law enforcement in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a member of Bellview Masonic Lodge #325, American Legion Post #204 and a lifetime member of the Silver Creek Conservation Club.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Ester Boyd (Jim), Jennifer Hudelson (Corey), Katy Ester; sister, Carolyn Ester; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Carl's wish was to be cremated. A reception of family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 . His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E. 8th Street, New Albany) with burial and military honors to follow at New Albany National Cemetery.
