Wanda "Sue" Johnson, 82, Wayne Elgin Road, Hopkinsville, KY passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at her home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the Johnson homeplace, Wayne Elgin Road, Hopkinsville, KY with Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, KY, she was born April 10, 1939, the daughter of the late William Wayne Elgin and the late Martha Norine (Cruck) Elgin.
Sue was a homemaker. She graduated from Lacy School and was "Miss Lacy" her senior year. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt to all. She lived her life daily for God and family. Her family spoke of her as a Proverbs 31 woman in every way; her life spoke for itself.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Gerald Johnson, Christian County, KY; her son, Jeffery Dane (Sharon) Johnson, Christian County, KY; her daughters, Susan Renee (DeWayne) Jessup, Christian County, KY; Janet Sherece (Rodney) Johnson, Trigg County, KY, Elizabeth Dee (Martin) Calvert, Christian County, KY; her brother, Terry (Gaye) Elgin, Hopkinsville, KY; her sisters, Janette McCroskey, Knoxville, TN, Glenda Hensley, Hopkinsville, KY; her grandchildren, Clay Jessup, Lindsey Giltner, Leslie Fort, Lauren Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, Elyse Howton, Wesley Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Autumn Bailey, Hailee Isom, Ethan Calvert and Austin Calvert; and 30 great-grandchildren.
