SERVICES HELD HERE FOR HARRY W, HOFER
Funeral services were held at the Princeville Methodist church Monday afternoon for Harry W. Hofer, esteemed resident of the Stark community, who passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning at his home. Rev. A. H. Northdurft and Rev. J. C. Craine conducted the services and interment was in the Princeville cemetery. Pallbearers were Bryon Wear, Frank Graves, Harry Friedman, William Long, Louis Streitmatter and Robert Oertley.
Harry William Hofer, son of Lucas and Carolina Friedman Hofer, was born on the Hofer farm north of Princeville Aug. 17. 1893. He received his grade and high school education in the Princeville schools and always took an active part in the school's activities, especially athletics.
On October 24, 1914, he was married to Miss Mildred Blanchard of Princeville and to that union were born three children—Dorothy, Eleanor and William.
Mr. Hofer's entire life was spent in this locality, where he engaged in farming, residing in Stark county for the past 24 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hofer long have been faithful supporters of the Methodist church and always were ready to do their part in the church work, especially the Sunday school. Mr. Hofer will be greatly misses in this community, as a helpful neighbor and an extremely devoted husband and father.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Swanson of Peoria and Mrs. Eleanor Sniff of San Bernardino, Calif.; one son William at home; two grandchildren, Sandra and Judith Swanson; two sister, Miss Caroline Hofer of Iron Mountain, Mich. And Mrs. John Hinnen of Peoria and two sons-in-law, Kenneth Swanson and Staff Sergeant Ralph Sniff.
