CHARLES H. FRITZ, SR., PASSES AWAY MONDAY

Following a prolonged illness Charles H. Fritz, Sr., 77, well known farmer of this community, passed away Monday morning May 20, at the Seven Oaks sanitarium.
Charles H. Fritz, son of Gottlieb and Louis Weiland Fritz, was born November 2, 1860, in Akron township, Peoria county, Illinois, and died May 30, 1938, at Princeville, Illinois, at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 28 days. Mr. Fritz had followed the occupation of farming his entire life.
On January 12, 1887, he was united in marriage to Mary A. Steinman who preceded him in death on September 26, 1928.
Mr. and Mrs. Fritz made their home near Princeville on the same farm where he was born. To this union where born, one son William H., passing away 20 years ago. A grandson Harlan Fritz, died in November,1937.
He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Rose Oertley, Mrs. Bertha Dickerson, Charles A., Frank C. and Edward M., all of Princeville. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, a large number of more distant relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Fritz was the last of a family of ten children.
He is a kind and loving father. There is sorrow beyond words in the death of such a man, but it is a sorrow lightened and softened by recollection of the life he lived.
Last rites for Mr. Fritz were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Princeville Presbyterian church, in charge of Rev. John F. Bliss. Pallbearers were: Floyd Harrod, Gilbert Adams, Harold Williams, Robert Schindler, Jr., Leo Graves and Wm. Greene Jr. Interment was in Princeville cemetery.
The services were attended by a large number of relatives and friends from this and nearby communities. Those from a distance attending were: Wm. Wolf and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Muender, Mr. and Mrs. John Wolf, all of Sterling, Ill., and Mrs. Oliver Guenther of St. Louis Mo.
