Surrounded by his loving family, Edward L. "Eddie" Jimenez, age 67, of Palestine, Texas, was called to his eternal home in Heaven on Monday, the 4th day of April 2022. "Eddie" or "E", as he was affectionately known was born in Pasadena, Texas on the 13th day of May 1954 to parents Nicanor Jimenez and Felicitas Linan Jimenez.

Eddie was known by many throughout the community. He truly loved people, had a big heart, and a creative spirit. He was very talented when it came to working with his hands and he could create beautiful wood pieces. Eddie loved food and cooking. He made the best homemade tortillas, and he could create delicious dishes without ever looking at a recipe. Chili was his specialty, and he won several chili cookoffs. Eddie also enjoyed time spent in the outdoors hunting and fishing.

Eddie understood the purpose of life. In 1986 he graduated with an associate degree from Christ For The Nations Institute. He was an ordained minister who influenced many lives by leading others to Christ. He loved the Lord and shared the gospel with others, including the years he served as a youth minister. He was always protective of his family and made sure they were cared for and knew he loved them dearly. His absence will always be felt but his legacy will live on in the lives of those who cherished him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Nicanor and Felicitas Jimenez, sister Gloria Chavez, and brother Mike Jimenez.

Eddie will live on in the hearts of his wife of 42 years, Susie Jimenez; children, Christina Easter and husband Kenny, Sarah Taylor and husband Dan, and Nicholas Jimenez; father-in-law, Brice McDonald; mother-in-law, Betty Douthit and Joe Watlington; sisters, Josie Carroll and husband Chris, Fay Garrett and husband Ronnie; brother, Nick Jimenez; sister-in-law, Tammy Kent and husband John; brothers-in-law, Daron McDonald and Craig McDonald; grandchildren, Brent Jimenez, Mason Jimenez, Emily Jimenez, Langston Taylor, Sheppard Taylor, Dani Taylor, Madison Graves, Kassidy Thornton, Peyton Graves; and three great-grandchildren. Eddie was also greatly loved by his many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
