William Milton was the son of Andrew Coffee and Louisa Eliza Hunt Broyles. He was born in Tennessee and moved to the mid-west where he worked in real estate and brokerage. He married Julia Clements of St. Louis on 28 Nov 1900. She suffered fatal injuries in a fall and died 14 April 1912. After her death William became despondent and difficult to control and was put into the psychiatric hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri where he died in 1915.
