Mr. George Henry "Buzzy" Shimp, Sr., age 77, of Ocean Springs passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Memorial Hospital. Buzzy was born on May 29, 1942 in Baltimore Maryland to William H. and Mary Ann Shimp. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as an industrial painter for many years. Buzzy enjoyed watching sports and in his prime played softball and golf. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Ann Shimp and his daughter, Mary Margaret Shimp. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Jane Shimp; children, George H. (Johnette) Shimp, Jr., William D. (Brandy) Shimp, James M. Shimp, Leslie J. (Jerry) Pitts and Carol A. (Ricky) Noble; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol, Joe, Sandy, Teresa, Iva, and Billy. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit two-hours prior to service.
