Dwight is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Lee Traywick (1909-1977) and Annie (Clackler) Traywick (1915-1985), and his brothers, Marvin Edwin Lee Traywick (1931-1977) and Larry Traywick.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, of 58 years, daughter, a sister, his two beloved grandchildren, and his nieces, nephews, and best friend, David.
Born in Clanton, Alabama, Dwight attended Ramsey High School when they moved to Birmingham, where he played on the basketball team. He married Shirley Ann Barnes of Waltham, Massachusetts after meeting her on a blind date while working construction in New York.
They moved back to Alabama, where he worked for over 30 years in the moving business. After he retired, he worked as a marshal at various public golf courses, including Bent Brook.
Golf and fishing were his passion, as well as the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR. His wit and humor will be remembered and missed by those who knew and loved him best.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 at Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham at 800 Dennison Avenue S.W. with a memorial service following at 2:00. Memorial donations may be made in Dwight's name to the American Lung Association. A special thank you to the, CICU unit at BMC Princeton for their loving care and support.
