Marianna A. Amerson, 79, of the 1100 block of S. Military Hwy., passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in her home. She was the widow of Charlie F. Amerson and is survived by two sons, Larry W. Amerson and wife Jacqueline and Phillip E. Amerson and wife Tina; five sisters, Elsie Hicks, Madeline Blanchard and husband Earl, Hilda Silvia and husband Bill, Rose Sawyer and husband Dick and Margaret Deese; two brothers, Frank Pine and wife Angelina and Joe Pine; two grandchildren, Jessica and Phillip "P.J." Amerson II; and two stepgrandchildren, Allen Shires and wife Melissa and Ethan Shires. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Matthews Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
