He was born March 16, 1946 in Huntington Park, California and was the second son of Elmer Fredrick and Gertrude Bohrer Coons.

He was a happy, good natured, hardworking, loving man who was deeply loved and cherished. He was a self-taught guitarist and some of his happiest times in his later years were playing and singing "Old Rock & Roll" with his buddy, Dave Travis, at area senior living and 55+ communities. He absolutely loved doing it and the good times it generated.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Craig and Dennis and his son-in-law, Ryan Regnier.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Mitchell Coons, who is so very grateful to have loved and been loved by him for these past nineteen years. They had wonderful adventures and so much happiness together.

He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl McNamara and her family of Phoenix; one son, Michael William Coons and his wife, Melody of Wake Forest; four daughters and their families: Barbara and Tony Goodwin of St. Louis; Michelle and Robert Young of Portland, Oregon; Carie Regnier of St. Louis; and Christine Tolliver of Bunn. He had five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. We will all miss him beyond words.
