Mary was born in Morris County, New Jersey, the eldest daughter of William & Sarah (Strait) Headley. In 1822 she married John D. Struble, the youngest son of Daniel & Mary (Couse) Struble. Together they raised nine children (a daughter and 8 sons): Rebecca (Potter), Hiram, Daniel, William, John, Charles, Oscar, David, & Edwin. They migrated to Knox County, Ohio in 1832, where they remained for the rest of their lives.
