Carmen Belle Connell, 91, of Leachville, AR., died Monday, January 7, 2008, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center.

Born at Leachville, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jessie Edgin and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Leachville First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Jake Connell and Burton Connell; five brothers, Lewis Edgin, Henry Edgin, Roy Edgin, Barton Edgin and Jack Edgin; and three sisters, Myrtle Overbay, Rachel Wright and Ella Mae McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Connell.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dottie Cobbs and her husband Charles of Leachville and Ruth Ann Taylor and her husband Charles of Paragould; step-son, Charles Connell of Union City, Tenn.; step-daughters, Dona Macklin, Janie Elliott and Carolyn Cole, all of Trenton, Tenn.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eight stepgrandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Edgin of Arbyrd, Mo., and Ernest Edgin of Leachville; and two sisters, Jessie Ruth Martin of St. Charles, Mo., and Christeen Littlefield of Leachville.

Funeral services were at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery.
