Harold "Otis" Pete Butler, was born the son of Fred Lee Butler and Cora Bell Fuller Butler on Aug. 30, 1919, in Koshkonong, MO, and died June 18, 2007, at his home near Koshkonong, at the age of 87. He was united in marriage Sept. 8, 1945, at Salem, AR, to Venita Hutson.
He was a life-long livestock farmer, and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Venita, of the family home near Koshkonong, MO; three sons, Otis Butler and wife, Karen of Koshkonong; Lester Butler of Koshkonong and Richard Butler of West Plains, MO; one daughter, Carolyn Staley and husband Ernest of Koshkonong; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Graham of California and Marie Wilkening of Salem, AR; one sister-in-law, Margaret Butler of West Plains; several nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frederick Butler and Robert Butler; and two sisters, Bessie Malone and Wilma Bussell.
Funeral services were June 20 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, MO, with Gene Bussell officiating. Burial was in Shiloh Grand Gulf Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
