Betty Jean Fitzpatrick, age 79 of Somerset, KY passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
Betty was born on August 12, 1942 in Somerset, KY to the late Claude and Thelma Hodge Hines. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She then joined Rebecca Sunday school class which she loved dearly. Betty worked at First and Farmers Bank for 40 years before retiring.
We will cherish our memories of our beloved Aunt Bea and the Christian example she set for us all.
Betty is survived by one brother, Jim (Betty) Hines; two sisters, Joan Garner and Judy Layton; her nephews and nieces who were like children to her, Anthony (Becky) Hines; Mark (Robin) Layton, Michael (Samantha) Layton, Lisa Anderson, Sandy Hines, and Claudett Turpen; fifteen great-nephews and nieces; 20 great-great nephews and nieces; a special cousin, Linda Lafavers and her friends at The Highlands.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ercil Hines; her husband, Hubert Fitzpatrick; and two brothers-in-law, Larry Garner and Russell Layton.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Corey Meggs and Bro. Danny Rowling officiating. Burial will be at Somerset Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Hines, Mark Layton, Michael Layton, Jason Layton, Matthew Layton, Nickolas Turpen, Levi Layton, Noah Layton, Chris Hines, and Brian Hines.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund.
