Buried on 6 January 1883. Died aged 66 years old at home, 21 Broad Street, Calton, Glasgow.

Cause of death was paralysis, hemiplegia for 1 year and 8 months and general debility for 23 days. Her death was registered by her nephew James Kelly.

Her parents were Duncan Stewart and Mary Sands who married on 10 January 1798 at Callander, Perthshire.

She married John Laird on 10 February 1862 at Partick, Glasgow.

She is interred in lair C536 alongside her husband. There is a note on the gravestone of the death of her brother William's son Rev. James Bald Stewart on the gravestone. He is interred in Canada.

Interred in lair C537 is her brother William's son Duncan Stewart, his wife Mary Bain and Jessie Cumming S Shaw. I am unsure of Jessie' relationship to those in the lairs.

Janet purchased lair C536 on 23 November 1881. She stated she was residing at 21 Broad Street, Calton, Glasgow at the time of purchase. The lair was later transferred to her nephew Duncan Stewart.
