Obituary of Arthur Ernest Brownell
After an unexpected illness, and with his family by his side on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington in his 79th year. Loving husband of Diane (Wren) Brownell for almost 58 years. Dear father of Lee (Kris), Scott (Donna), and Chris (Lori). Devoted and loving grandfather of Jimmy-Lee, Bradley (Tasha), and Jesse (Rhi); Brock and Jaden; and Trevor and Nicole; and great-grandchildren Degan, Dominic and Lincoln. Brother of the late Phyllis (Bill) Stevenett. Brother-in-law to late June (Alf) Hare, and Rick Wren (Don Upper). Also sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Arthur enjoyed his job as both a bus and truck driver. He was the trustee of the Haldimand Board of Education for 7 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 154 in Caledonia. A great deal of gratitude to the many wonderful people that helped through this short illness: Dr. Michaels, Dr. McMichen, Leanne Decker, Kim Knox, and the emergency room staff, all from Haldimand War Memorial Hospital; Dr. Doyle, and Dr. Prodger from Joseph Brant Hospital. Special thanks also to Jason Cooper. You all helped ease our burden. Friends will be received at BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, Dunnville on Sunday, April 23 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the chapel at the funeral home, on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations in memory of Arthur to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation - ER Project, would be sincerely appreciated.
